About this place
A generous lunch of tanmen with curry rice is one of the tempting combinations at Kureiru. One diner who ordered the set described a soup with the sweetness of vegetables, containing Chinese cabbage, wood ear mushrooms and pork; the curly noodles were on the firm side. The same diner found the curry moderately spicy, with its ingredients still in discernible pieces and a peppery heat that stood out. Another visitor found the curry rich and spicy, and said it made a stronger impression than the tanmen. Which dish takes centre stage may depend on your mood that day.
Some reports say the rice dish in the set changes from day to day, with options including fried rice and curry, so check what is available if you have a particular pairing in mind. For a more traditional set-meal lunch, the ginger-fried pork comes with a house-made savoury sauce, rice, soup or miso soup, and salad. One diner found the pork satisfying and its sweet-leaning seasoning a good match for rice. Another enjoyed changing up the flavour with the restaurant’s handmade-style chilli oil.
There is also a dinner menu, alongside drinks such as beer, Shaoxing wine and lemon sour. On weekdays, the restaurant opens for lunch and dinner; it is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
